To facilitate this process, SCSOC has a team of full-time dedicated Workers’ Compensation Coordinators who work within a team approach model with our physicians. We truly understand that communication and care coordination are the hallmarks of a successful recovery. Are expert team works closely with patients, employers, insurance carriers, and rehabilitation consultants to assure the process following an injury runs smoothly.
Work hardening programs
The Workers Compensation Medical Experts at SCSOC also offers individualized work hardening and work conditioning programs. Our programs focus on building up strength, range of motion, endurance, and flexibility before returning to the job in a safe and effective manner. Our work hardening programs also focus on real or simulated work activities, such as repetitive reaching, material handling and assembly. It is highly structured and goal-oriented, with patients reporting to our clinic’s simulated work environments Through our multidisciplinary approach to your recovery, our team progressively improves an employee’s physical capabilities while addressing the issues of safety, physical tolerance and work behaviors.
Functional Capacity Evaluations
The Workers Compensation Experts at SCSOC also closely analyze a person’s abilities to perform work-related tasks. These evaluations can be related to a worker’s specific job description and are determined by levels by which an individual can perform a work-related task.
Our evaluations assess:
- Range of motion
- Muscle strength
- Cardiovascular fitness
- Material-handling capacities
- Consistency of effort
- Physical demand levels
During our functional capacity evaluations, we put an emphasis on whether these is a physical match between the worker’s functional capabilities and the physical demands of the job.
